Themis

WordPress theme

Themis, by QuanticaLabs, is a lawyer and law-firm theme whose pages are assembled from shortcodes inserted through a manager button in the post editor, with colour, typography, header and component settings gathered in one Theme Options panel. The article covers that editing model, the Home Page Tabs Configurator, per-screen-size font settings, the right-to-left support and its 2014 fix, and the gap between the long 2013-to-2023 changelog and the WordPress versions the listing now declares.

The shortcode manager is the whole editing model

QuanticaLabs does not describe a visual page builder anywhere in the Themis feature list. Instead, a button in the post editor opens a pop-up of shortcodes. You choose one, enter its settings, save, and the configured snippet appears in the content. Inserted snippets stay editable: select one and press the button again to reopen its options.

The vendor's own counts for that library do not agree. The description says 30+ shortcodes; the feature list further down says 24 predefined shortcodes. Neither tells you which layouts each one covers, so confirm the specific elements your practice pages need rather than trusting the headline number.

What the model means in practice: page structure and copy live in the same text field, so editing an existing page is reading it rather than dragging blocks on a canvas. That suits a firm site with a handful of stable pages and a designer who wants the markup to stay put.

The 2013 changelog against the versions declared today

Themis began in 2013. The vendor's update list runs from the 3.0 release that added responsive mode and the Shortcode Manager through to version 4.7 on 26 July 2023, whose entries are a few minor bug fixes and a refreshed Theme Demo Data Installer. In between are the small maintenance releases you would expect from a theme of that age: jQuery library updates, reCAPTCHA 2.0 support, dashboard polish, and a 2015 fix for a security problem involving WordPress core query functions.

The marketplace attributes, observed on 4 November 2026, declare WordPress compatibility from 4.9.x through the 7.x lines published in the listing. The codebase's last documented update is from 2023. Both statements come from the listing rather than from a test on your hosting, so the wide range is a claim to verify against your PHP version and plugin set, not a settled result.

RTL support that predates most themes' RTL modes

Right-to-left support is a named feature, with Hebrew and Arabic given as examples, and the changelog shows it was worked on rather than flipped on: version 3.6 added RTL mode in April 2014, and version 3.9.1 later that year fixed an Isotope filtering issue that only appeared in RTL.

That history is worth something if your audience reads RTL, because the gallery filter is exactly the kind of interactive component that breaks silently in a mirrored layout. It is still a vendor record of past fixes, not a check of your own Arabic or Hebrew copy.

Translation runs on a separate track. Themis is described as WPML compatible and ships .po and .mo files, and the marketplace's compatible-with attribute names WPML.

Theme Options: colour, type per screen size, and the header

One admin panel decides the site's identity. Colour schemes are applied across virtually every element, and typography draws on a library of over 800 fonts and variants. Base and headline fonts are set separately, and the vendor states that different settings can be applied for different screen sizes — so a headline can scale down on smaller displays without a custom stylesheet.

The same panel holds the header details a law practice tends to care about: custom logo, logo placement together with citation and phone positioning, social profiles, blog settings and a company info form. Unlimited sidebars and menus are part of the list, which matters more in a shortcode-driven theme because widget regions are how you vary sidebar content without editing page bodies.

Responsive mode can be switched off in Theme Options. The vendor describes every element as responsive and treats the switch as an option, so turning it off gives visitors on phones a fixed desktop layout. Treat that as a fallback for a specific reason, not a starting point.

Fixed components with a lot of switches

The front page is built around a tabs element with its own control group: positioning and dimension settings, autoplay, how many tabs to show, transition effects and transition speed. It ships with 10 predefined tab images and 40 tab icons, which is how one page can present several practice areas without a separate page per area.

Other components follow the same pattern. The slider exposes transition effects and speed, navigation, pause on hover and a random start. Galleries have layout choices, Isotope filtering and image labels. The built-in lightbox covers images and videos with positioning, titles, a custom overlay, transition effects and animation speed. A Google Map element takes map type, marker coordinates, zoom, pan, scale and street view settings.

Read as a set, these are configuration-heavy components rather than layout primitives. You get many switches on something the vendor has already designed; you do not get a way to invent new component types.

What ships alongside the theme

The Theme Demo Data Installer sits under the Appearance menu and imports the demo pages, posts and widgets in one click, without XML files. Because pages are shortcode content, an imported page arrives as a finished set of configured snippets that you then edit or strip back.

The vendor also counts 20+ predefined page layouts: about and services pages, a clients page, several blog and gallery layouts, a contact page and more. Post options add custom header menus, custom sidebars and per-post control over which details are shown.

The package and the extras are described in two places that do not quite match. The marketplace file list includes Layered PSD, PHP, CSS and JS. Separately, the vendor says layered, fully editable PSD sources and a vector icon set are free to buyers who contact them for the files. If the PSD sources matter to your handoff, ask which route actually delivers them. The icon set is counted as 80: 20 feature icons, 40 home tab icons and 20 social icons.

Questions & answers

Can I edit Themis pages with the block editor?

The listing marks Gutenberg Optimized as No, and the documented editing route is the classic post editor plus the shortcode manager button. That attribute records the vendor's positioning rather than disabling blocks, so if block-based editing is a requirement, test it on a staging install before committing.

Do I receive the PSD files with the theme?

The marketplace file list includes Layered PSD, while the vendor separately describes organised, fully editable PSD sources as free to buyers who contact them. Those statements come from different parts of the listing, so confirm the route and contents with the vendor.

Is Themis maintained as actively as the declared WordPress compatibility suggests?

The update list ends at version 4.7 dated 26 July 2023, mostly small bug fixes and installer refreshes. The listing nevertheless declares compatibility up to the recent WordPress lines published on 4 November 2026. Treat that range as a declaration to check against your own server rather than evidence of recent testing.

Adifier

Adifier encodes a full classifieds business inside WordPress: eight-plus ad types including auctions and job posts, two separate revenue streams (paid posting and paid promotion), per-category custom fields that drive submission forms, filters and comparison, and a seller dashboard covering invoices, bids and messaging. The article explains what each of those lets an operator do, how the admin-level controls in the changelog shape day-to-day moderation, and what the vendor's compatibility declarations do and do not tell you.

Amwerk

Amwerk is BoldThemes' WordPress theme for construction, manufacturing and industrial companies, built around the Bold Builder page editor. Its distinguishing mechanics sit inside that editor: a clipboard that copies rows from one page to another, and from one website to another; per-page overrides of global settings; content limited by date; and blocks hidden or shown by screen resolution. The vendor also bundles its Cost Calculator plugin with the theme, which matters for contractors who want quote requests rather than a plain contact form. Three demos each pair one homepage with pre-built inner pages, and the vendor's declared compatibility covers WordPress 6.0.x through 7.0.x as recorded on the marketplace in November 2026.

Atrium

Atrium, from QuanticaLabs, is a one-page corporate theme whose selling point is how much of the site you can restyle without writing CSS: a Theme Styles panel that reaches hover states and footer components, a font configurator set per screen dimension, and per-section layout and background controls. Pages can be built in the bundled drag-and-drop builder or through a shortcode generator inside the native editor.
