Hotel Master Booking

WordPress theme

Hotel Master from GoodLayers is a WordPress reservation engine for hotels, hostels, apartments and B&Bs, with per-bed dorm booking, unlimited seasonal pricing, mandatory add-on services, date blocking, coupons and consecutive-night discounts. The vendor's sharpest caveat is that iCal syncing works only when a room type holds a single unit, so inventory shape decides whether the calendar integration is available to you.

The iCal limit decides the inventory question first

Before you look at layout, check one line in the vendor's description of version 3.0. Hotel Master can sync bookings with Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway through iCal, but the vendor states this works only when a room type has one room in its "Room amount" setting. Three room types with one unit each is fine. Any room type with more than one unit loses iCal for that type.

That single condition reorders the usual evaluation. If you rent whole apartments that each exist once, calendar syncing between Hotel Master and an external listing is on the table. If you run a 20-room hotel where every deluxe room is interchangeable, it is not, and you would manage availability in the theme's own booking system only. The vendor lists this restriction itself rather than burying it, which is a good sign, but it also means the advertised feature is narrower than the short feature list suggests.

Beds, not just rooms, can be the unit you sell

Hostel support arrived in version 2.0 and changes what a bookable item means. The vendor describes creating a dorm or private room and letting a guest book per bed instead of per room. The same release added facilities management in the backend, where you add or remove facilities, and the ability to attach additional services you charge for.

For a hostel this is the difference between a theme that merely looks hostel-ish and one that matches how beds are actually sold. Coupled with the single-unit iCal rule, the inventory model you choose determines which of the two headline features stay available. A five-bed dorm is one room type with five units, so per-bed selling applies while iCal does not — you cannot have both on the same record. The vendor's five demos include a dedicated Hostel layout alongside Classic, MyApartment, Modern and Dark, so the dorm workflow has a reference build.

The price levers an owner controls

Rate management is where the booking engine earns its keep. Unlimited seasonal pricing is listed, so a high-season weekend can carry a different rate without a separate room type. A special discount applies to consecutive-night bookings, which lets you reward longer stays without publishing a code. Coupons exist as their own post type, with fields for the code, amount, expiration date and a discount type of either a percentage or a fixed credit amount.

Three smaller controls round this out. Additional services such as cleaning can be marked mandatory, so they enter the total rather than sitting as an optional extra. Individual rooms can be blocked on specific dates, which covers maintenance and owner stays without faking a reservation. Together these are ordinary hotel-management needs handled inside the theme rather than through a third-party plugin, and the vendor has published walkthrough videos for services, facilities and seasonal pricing.

Changing a room mid-booking without a reload

The guest-facing flow is built around browsing availability and then adjusting it. The vendor says users can change their search parameters or re-choose a room during the booking process through Ajax, with no page refresh. That matters when a guest sees a price and wants a different date range or a cheaper unit — the comparison stays on the same screen instead of restarting the funnel.

On the admin side, the vendor lists booking management in the backend, including a redesigned transaction page introduced in 3.0. Payment testing on the demo requires a PayPal Sandbox account according to the description, which tells you PayPal is the payment route exercised in the demo rather than proof of a wider gateway lineup. Read the payment details in the documentation before committing to a checkout plan.

WooCommerce runs beside the booking system, not inside it

This is the sentence in the vendor description that prevents a costly assumption: WooCommerce support "doesn't mean that user can pay for rooms by using Woocommerce. The booking system and Woocommerce are independent." What the theme provides is compatibility and a stylesheet that dresses WooCommerce to match.

So the shop and the reservation engine are two separate systems sharing one site. You can sell gift cards, merchandise or add-on tours through WooCommerce while rooms run through Hotel Master's own checkout, and the two do not share carts or order records. Plan reporting, tax handling and refunds with that split in mind. If you wanted one unified commerce backend, this theme is not built that way, and no amount of styling will join the two.

What wraps the engine: demos, builder and layout controls

Design is secondary here, but it is not thin. The GoodLayers page builder handles page composition, with a shortcut button that applies preset page-builder settings for Homepage, About, Service and both Contact layouts in one click. Parallax and colour sections accept a custom skin so font and link colours can change per section, which matters when a photo background would otherwise swallow text.

Sidebar width is selectable at 16, 25, 33, 41 or 50 percent, with 25 and 33 available for two-sidebar layouts, and the container width is set in pixels. A built-in mega menu removes the need for a menu plugin, three room list styles (Modern, Classic, Medium thumbnail) cover catalogue presentation, and sliders ship in full-screen, full-width and boxed forms. A landing page template can disable the header, the footer or both.

Reading the listing attributes correctly

The marketplace attributes observed on 3 November 2026, with a latest listed version of 4.3.0, name WooCommerce 6.x through 10.x along with WPML, and WordPress 6.1.x through 7.0.x. Package files are listed as layered PSD, PHP, CSS and JS. These are vendor and listing claims, not the result of installing the theme on a server.

Two of them carry practical weight. WPML appears in compatibility but the vendor's description does not explain how room types, facilities or coupons translate — that is worth confirming before a multilingual launch. And the WooCommerce range describes a shop layer that, as above, is deliberately separate from booking payments. Demo images are explicitly excluded from the theme package per the vendor, so plan for your own photography.

Questions & answers

Can I use the same room type for both dorm beds and iCal syncing?

Not under the vendor's stated rule. iCal works only when a room type has a single room unit, while per-bed hostel booking requires multiple units in one room type. You can block dates manually per room instead, but the external calendar sync is unavailable for that record.

Does Hotel Master process room payments through WooCommerce?

No. The vendor states plainly that the booking system and WooCommerce are independent, and WooCommerce support means the theme is compatible with the shop and supplies matching styles. Rooms are paid for through the booking system's own checkout, which the demo exercises with PayPal Sandbox.

Are the demo images included with the theme?

The vendor says images in the preview site are not part of the theme package. The listed files are layered PSD, PHP, CSS and JS, so budget for your own hotel photography and room imagery.

Alloggio

Alloggio, by Edge-Themes, spreads room booking across separate shortcodes — room lists, an availability calendar, a reservation filter and a reservation form — so you decide which question each page section answers. Each room record can also carry seasonal rates, a minimum-nights rule and an optional half-day booking mode. This article covers how those blocks combine, what the WooCommerce additions (wishlist, quick view, side-area cart) do, how the four header types and hospitality widgets slot in, and what the changelog says about translation, maps and PHP upkeep.

Auto Spa

Auto Spa, from QuanticaLabs, is a car wash and auto detailing theme wrapped around a bundled booking plugin. Its distinctive logic is that a location is the unit of configuration: each one keeps its own currency, tax, sales-menu style, workplaces, calendar rules and payment settings. Mobile detailing adds address capture, a service-area limit and a travel fee calculated from Google Maps driving distance or time for both legs of the trip. The theme side is edited through three Appearance panels and WPBakery with 30+ custom elements.

Backpack Traveler

Backpack Traveler's organising idea is the Destination custom post type: places become their own content type, with dedicated list, category, slider and map elements built around them. The article covers that destination layer and its Google Maps API condition, the three blog layouts and post formats, what the changelog says about removed Instagram and Twitter feeds, and why the WPBakery shortcode library is the settled editing path while Elementor is a declared compatibility.
