Emaurri

WordPress theme

Emaurri, from Mikado Themes, is a WordPress theme for architecture and interior design practices whose strongest asset is the case study: four portfolio list layouts with three pagination behaviours, seven named single-project layouts, and project-focused elements including Project Info, Swapping Image Gallery and a Vertical Split Slider. The vendor builds the editing path on Elementor and bundles Slider Revolution. This article covers those choices, the header and logo variants that frame image-led pages, and what the vendor's description and changelog actually say.

Emaurri's case for itself is the project page, not the homepage

Plenty of themes for this sector sell a look: a hero image, a serif headline, a grid of finished rooms. Emaurri's own feature list spends its detail somewhere else. The longest cluster describes how a single piece of work is displayed, with seven named layouts for portfolio single items and a further set of elements built to move a project's imagery around the page.

That is the thing to weigh first. An architecture or interior practice usually wins work through the depth of a few case studies, not the number of landing pages, and a theme that treats the project entry as the main unit of design is making a decision that matches how the site gets read.

One body of work, four list layouts

The vendor describes a Portfolio List shortcode with four layouts: Gallery, Masonry, Slider and Justified Gallery. Each answers a different question about the photographs you have.

Gallery keeps tiles to a consistent proportion, which suits work shot to a house style. Masonry lets mixed aspect ratios stack without cropping, useful when residential interiors, exteriors, elevations and site plans come from different shoots. Slider and Justified Gallery change how a visitor moves through the list rather than how each item is framed.

Three pagination behaviours accompany those layouts: standard pagination, a Load More button, and infinite scroll. The choice is about retrieval, not style. Standard pagination preserves a position a visitor can return to and quote in an email; Load More makes continuing a deliberate click; infinite scroll serves a purely visual browse. A category filter can also be switched on per list, so a filtered residential index and an unfiltered archive are two configurations of the same shortcode.

Seven single-project layouts, named by emphasis

The vendor's list names the single-project templates directly: Portfolio Gallery – Big, Portfolio Image Bottom, Portfolio Images – Big, Portfolio Images – Small, Portfolio Masonry – Small, Portfolio Slider – Small and Portfolio Slider – Big.

Read the names as instructions about emphasis. The big and small variants decide how much of the screen a photograph occupies against the text beside it, and Image Bottom reserves the top of the page for imagery with copy sitting underneath. A Slider variant makes the sequence the point, so the reader moves through the project in the order you set rather than scrolling at their own pace.

The layout list does not say whether switching a single-project layout affects projects already published. If you plan to restructure an existing portfolio, settle that in the documentation before you commit to a template.

Elements built to keep a project's images moving

Alongside the layouts, the vendor lists shortcodes that exist for the case study itself: Portfolio Project Info for the facts a client scans first, Portfolio Exhibition, Interactive Portfolio List and Portfolio Category List.

The more distinctive entries are visual. Swapping Image Gallery, Triple Image Highlight, Crossfade Images and the Vertical Split Slider all assume that a project page is a sequence of images rather than a block of text with a picture at the top. A split slider divides the screen into two regions, which changes how the page is read — it is a structural decision, not an ornament to drop in at the end of a build.

Because these are shortcodes, the practical consequence is a page composed from elements placed through the builder, not a fixed template you fill in. Plan the sequence of a project page early; retrofitting a split slider into a layout designed around a single wide image usually means rebuilding the page.

Headers and the logo set most teams forget

The theme lists four header types — Standard, Minimal, Minimal Centered and Vertical Sliding — plus a fullscreen menu mode. For pages dominated by large photographs, a minimal or vertical header keeps navigation clear of the image; a standard header carries more links before it needs compressing.

Behaviour is set separately: sticky, fixed, or sticky only on scroll up. The logo settings are where builds quietly go wrong. Emaurri supports separate files for the normal header, the sticky header and the mobile header, plus distinct versions for light and dark header skins — five states in total. A wordmark drawn for white paper rarely holds up over a dark photographic hero, so treat the logo set as part of the header decision rather than cleanup afterwards.

The same feature list covers multiple header and footer widget areas, an optional header top area, a mega menu, a side area and a footer with one to four columns. A child theme is included, which gives structural or CSS changes somewhere to live.

Elementor is the editing path the vendor describes

The description says Emaurri fully supports the Elementor page builder, and the changelog supports that reading: release 1.5 records improved Elementor compatibility and release 1.4 records updated Elementor deprecated functions. The theme's elements, including the portfolio shortcodes, are placed inside that builder.

WPBakery Page Builder appears in the marketplace compatibility attribute but is not named as bundled anywhere in the feature list, so don't plan a build on it arriving with the theme. Gutenberg Optimized is marked Yes on the listing, but that describes the editing route the vendor supports, not a promise that every Emaurri element behaves the same way in the block editor. If blocks are central to your plan, verify the specific elements you intend to use.

Expect to build project pages by assembling elements in Elementor with a one-click demo import as a reference, rather than editing block patterns.

Slider Revolution and what the changelog proves

The vendor states that Emaurri is bundled with the premium Slider Revolution Responsive plugin and puts its value at $85. That is a seller statement about the package; the listing page cannot verify what the theme files contain.

The changelog is the better evidence about maintenance. Every release from 1.1 onward records a Slider Revolution update, with version 1.6, dated 25 March 2026 on the listing, moving it to 6.7.51 alongside Emaurri Core 1.4, a WPML config update and a change to the social share label. Earlier entries add PHP 8.3 compatibility work, a FontAwesome 6.6 update and fixes to the custom font upload.

The changelog therefore shows a vendor that keeps the bundled plugins current. It does not tell you which plugin version ships in the copy you install, so check the theme's own release notes rather than assuming a number.

Shop, translation and contact forms as side modules

The feature list includes a Product List shortcode and a WooCommerce DropDown Cart widget, and the compatibility attribute names WooCommerce 8.x, 9.x and 10.x. That is enough to run a small shop next to a practice site — prints, furniture, a paid consultation. The changelog's WooCommerce entries are styling and cart-widget adjustments, so treat commerce as a supported side lane rather than the theme's centre.

WPML compatibility is listed, with a config file added in 1.5 and updated in 1.6; the theme is also marked translation ready. Both mean the theme is prepared for a multilingual build, not that translations appear by themselves. Contact Form 7 compatibility is listed for enquiry forms.

The listing, as observed on 4 November 2026, declares WordPress 6.5.x through 7.0.x, widget ready, high resolution and the file types PHP, CSS and JS. These are vendor declarations rather than results from testing on your host, PHP version or plugin stack.

Questions & answers

Do the seven single-project layouts apply to projects that are already published?

The listing does not say. It names the seven layouts and calls them customizable, but does not describe whether a layout change propagates to existing entries or only affects new ones. Check the theme documentation before reworking a live portfolio.

Is Slider Revolution included, and at which version?

The vendor states the premium Slider Revolution Responsive plugin is bundled. The changelog shows a slider update in every release from 1.1 through 1.6, but the listing does not confirm which version a given copy contains, so check the theme's release notes.

Can the site be built with WPBakery instead of Elementor?

WPBakery Page Builder appears in the compatibility attribute, while the description and changelog centre Elementor and the feature list does not name WPBakery as bundled. Confirm the supported route in the documentation before planning around it.

Arlo, by Frenify, is a portfolio theme whose most distinctive piece is the project entry itself: vendor-listed HTML5 video covers let a portfolio item open on moving footage, with enhanced isotope grids arranging the listing around it and Elementor handling page composition.
