A service is an entry, not a paragraph
The most useful thing to know about Autrics is how it stores a repair job. The vendor lists Services and Projects as custom post types and names a Service Details Page separately. An oil change, a brake job or a wheel alignment therefore lives as its own entry with a detail layout, rather than being retyped into whichever page happens to mention it.
That pays off as the catalogue moves. Add a service once and it can be pulled into listings and widgets; the vendor's Autrics Service widget gained an ordering control back in version 1.8, so the sequence in a layout is something you set rather than something that follows publishing dates. Projects covers the other half of a garage's marketing — restorations, rebuilds, finished jobs.
The listing does not say which fields each entry carries, so expect to shape the detail pages yourself in Elementor.
The booking calendar comes from Booktics
Autrics does not describe a scheduling engine of its own. The vendor credits service and booking functionality to Booktics, an appointment booking calendar for service businesses, and version 2.8.2 records improved service and booking work tied to it.
That plugin arrived in 2.7.9. Before it, version 2.7.3 added Timetics for booking and appointments, so the booking layer has changed hands. If you inherit an older build, check which plugin it is actually running before following current documentation.
The description also names a beautiful appointment form. Treat the form and the calendar as separate pieces: the theme can style a request form, while the scheduling logic belongs to the plugin. Nothing states that every home variation ships with booking already wired in.
What the 2.8.3 framework swap means for an existing site
Release 2.8.3, dated 8 August 2026, bundled four changes: Unyson was removed, Codestar Framework support was added, one-click demo import arrived, and the license module's security was tightened.
Unyson and Codestar are the layers that supply theme options, so a site built on an older copy has its settings sitting in a framework the current release no longer uses. The vendor's note says there is no migration path described and advises backing up before updating, restoring the backup or contacting support if trouble appears. Anyone maintaining a live Autrics site should run that update on a copy first.
A fresh installation is simpler: it starts as a Codestar theme with demo import built in. Version 2.8.2 had already added a theme admin menu, where the importer and theme settings most likely sit.
Layout choices: four homes, four headers, and the addons behind them
The feature list names 4 Home Variations and 4 Different Header Layouts. The changelog shows where some came from: version 2.0 added a Classical Home, and 2.7.0 added a Driving Niche variation alongside new testimonial and pricing table styles, plus a header and footer style built with Elementor addons.
Header count matters more than it sounds for a shop. A garage leading with a phone number and opening hours wants a different top strip than a parts seller, and swapping a header is cheaper than rebuilding a global template.
The density of the demos comes from the vendor's own elements — the feature list claims 10+ addons covering Testimonial, Pricing, Fun fact, Call to action, Section title and Partner. Pages built with them depend on the theme staying installed.
Where WooCommerce and other plugins fit
WooCommerce support is real but narrow. The vendor describes a shop page demo as ready and dates the shop page back to version 1.1, which suits a garage selling parts or accessories beside its services. It is not a description of advanced commerce.
The plugin trail in the changelog is worth reading as a whole: Booktics in 2.7.9, Poptics for popups in 2.7.8, Authorsy for author boxes in 2.7.7, Timetics in 2.7.3. Autrics leans on companion plugins, so plan for them alongside the theme. WPForms compatibility arrived in 2.8.4.
Marketplace attributes, observed on 4 November 2026, list Elementor, Bootstrap 4.x and WooCommerce 6.x through 9.x, with WordPress 5.8.x through 7.0.x and Gutenberg Optimized marked Yes. Child theme and documentation are listed as included. These are vendor declarations, not the results of a test install.
Questions & answers
Can I update an older Autrics site without losing theme settings?
The vendor describes no settings migration from Unyson to Codestar. The 2.8.3 note asks you to back up before updating and to restore the backup or contact support if problems appear, so test the update on a copy of the site rather than on the live one.
Does Autrics schedule appointments itself?
No. The vendor credits service and booking functionality to the Booktics plugin. The theme provides the service post type and a styled appointment form; the scheduling calendar belongs to Booktics.
Can pages be written in the block editor?
The marketplace marks Gutenberg Optimized as Yes, so blocks are a supported writing path. The demo layouts are built in Elementor, so a page composed in blocks will not automatically carry the theme's addon elements.
