AI ANN

WordPress theme

ANN, from AxiomThemes, is an Elementor-based WordPress theme aimed at AI agencies, SaaS startups and generative-AI products. The article looks at the theme's setting inheritance and override framework, the admin-side AI Helper that generates shortcode content from typed or dictated prompts, how the OpenAI-dependent parts need upkeep, the vendor's growing set of AI-specific homepage demos, and the package facts that decide whether it fits.

The override system is the framework claim worth understanding first

The marketplace description lists six homepages, blog layouts, a portfolio and custom widgets, but the statement that sets ANN apart from a typical AxiomThemes skin sits under "Powerful Theme Framework": a setting inheritance and override system. The theme's own metadata repeats it as a "unique system of inheritance and override options" for individual parameters across different sections of the site and across supported plugins.

Read that as a hierarchy rather than a single settings page. A global value is set once, and a narrower scope can take a different value without you editing that global default. On an agency or SaaS site, this is the difference between one header treatment everywhere and a shop block that keeps its own spacing while the marketing pages follow the main scheme.

The same framework lists 750+ Customizer options and a custom theme options panel. Those numbers describe volume, not quality; the override model is the part that changes how you work day to day.

AI Helper: prompts become shortcodes inside the dashboard

The theme bundles ThemeREX Addons, and the vendor changelog documents an AI Helper that generates content from prompts. According to version 1.38.0 notes, a microphone button was added to "all shortcode generators" so prompts can be dictated, with speech-to-text filling the associated field; version 1.41.0 adds Atomic Grid support to the content generator.

The distinction worth holding onto is where this happens. It is described as working inside the admin panels you already use to build pages, producing content for those elements, not as a separate chat product you leave WordPress to use. Voice input exists because typing a long prompt on a laptop is slower than saying it.

These are vendor changelog entries, not results of anyone press-testing the assistant. How useful the output is depends on your own prompts and review process.

The OpenAI side needs an API key and upkeep, not a one-time setup

Several AI Helper paths run through OpenAI, and the changelog shows that surface moving. Version 1.40.0 refreshed default models. Version 1.41.0 records that AI assistants moved off the retired OpenAI Assistants API onto the Responses API with Conversations and Vector Store, adding model, vector store and instructions settings per assistant, and notes support for new image models after DALL-E 2 and 3 were retired in May 2026.

That history tells you two things. The first is that per-assistant configuration exists, so different assistants can carry different models and instructions. The second is that model names and endpoints age quickly. Budget for an OpenAI account, for API usage, and for the occasional update when a model or endpoint is retired.

The changelog also documents security fixes in the same addon, including a stored XSS issue in an AI Helper upload path. Keep the theme and ThemeREX Addons current rather than freezing a single build.

Six homepages, with the AI-specific ones added release by release

The description says the theme features six different homepages. The changelog shows how the set grew: an AI Music Generator Homepage arrived in 1.35.0 (October 2025) and an AI Video Generator Homepage in 1.37.0 (February 2026).

The vendor frames ANN for neural-network and generative-AI work \u2014 AI art generators, machine learning, ChatGPT-style tools, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion \u2014 and also for creative and marketing agencies, studio portfolios and SEO or social work. Those are different sites. A text-to-image product demo leads with output examples; an agency page leads with client work and services.

Because the demo importer installs one configuration at a time, a sensible starting point is to import the homepage closest to your product category and treat the others as reference for section ideas, not as a combined layout.

Elementor covers page content and the header and footer

The layout features list Elementor page builder support for modifying page content, plus header and footer layouts customized in Elementor. Putting the masthead and footer in the same builder as the body means fewer places to learn and one visual editing surface for the whole page.

The marketplace attributes list Elementor and Elementor Pro as compatible, alongside WooCommerce 5.x through 8.x and WPML. Those are declarations from the vendor and marketplace, not a report of the theme being run against your specific plugin set, and a listed integration does not mean every demo page depends on it.

The declared file package is PHP, CSS and JS. Slider Revolution and the Swiper slider are described as included by the vendor; if you plan to rely on a bundled plugin, confirm what is actually shipped in the copy you obtain.

Blog and portfolio controls for feeding an agency site

The advanced blog settings include multiple blog styles, flexible layouts, 20+ post animations, a blog feed filterable by post type or category, post views, likes and sharing buttons, and a related-posts section.

The feed filter is the practical one for a mixed site. An AI studio often publishes case studies next to short updates; choosing which post types or categories appear in a feed keeps the front page from mixing formats at random. Post views and likes add a visible signal of interest, which is useful for a research or tool-review blog and easy to remove if you would rather not display engagement counts.

Portfolio support is listed as a feature, though the description does not detail its layouts. Check the demo if project pages are the core of the site.

Package and attribute facts that affect fit

The listing records the layout as responsive, columns as 4+, widget ready as yes, high resolution as yes, and Gutenberg Optimized as yes. Documentation is marked well documented and browsers listed are Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and Edge.

The software version list spans WordPress 4.9.x through 7.0.x, which reflects a long-lived theme maintained across many releases rather than a narrow support window. A long list like that is a compatibility declaration, not proof of how any single plugin combination behaves; a staging install with your own addons remains the practical check.

The description also mentions Midjourney clipart included with the theme. That is a vendor claim about demo artwork, so treat any imagery you plan to publish as something to license or replace yourself.

Questions & answers

Do I need Elementor Pro to use ANN?

No. The vendor lists Elementor page builder support as a theme feature and separately lists Elementor Pro among compatible plugins. Pro is only relevant if a demo layout uses Pro widgets or if you want Pro features in the header, footer or product templates.

Does the AI Helper work without an OpenAI account?

The changelog ties AI Helper features to OpenAI models, endpoints and per-assistant model settings, so those generation features depend on an API connection. The rest of the theme, including Elementor layouts and the override system, is not described as depending on that account.

Is the override system the same as the Customizer?

They are described as different layers. The Customizer holds the 750+ global options, and the inheritance and override system lets narrower scopes, such as individual sections or supported plugins, take their own parameter values without rewriting the global defaults.

Bili

Bili, by WebGeniusLab, keeps header composition outside Elementor: the WGL framework includes a drag-and-drop header builder with presets, while site-wide styling lives in 100+ theme options and individual pages can carry their own metabox overrides. The vendor also lists 30+ modules, portfolio grids with infinite scroll or Load More, and a bundle it says removes the need for Elementor Pro or extra WooCommerce add-ons.
