Client galleries with the protection switches built in
Most photography themes hand you a gallery grid and leave rights management to a plugin. ThemeGoods lists "Gallery & Image Protection Options" for Artale: password protection, right-click blocking, image-drag protection and a watermark.
For a wedding photographer those are working controls rather than decoration. A password-protected gallery is how you hand a couple a preview set before the balance is settled. A watermark puts a visible mark across a low-resolution proof without editing each file. Right-click and drag blocking raise the effort needed to lift an image off the page, but they are browser-level deterrents, not encryption — a served image is still reachable. Treat them as friction you can switch on, with contracts and licensing doing the real safeguarding.
Because the vendor describes these as theme options, verify the combination you want in the build you receive rather than assuming particular settings arrive enabled.
How the mood is set without touching CSS
Site-wide appearance lives in the WordPress Customizer with live preview, and the vendor is unusually specific about the typography controls. Body text, H1–H6, buttons, main menu, submenu, side menu, page headers, taglines and widget titles each get their own settings for size, weight, spacing and text-transform.
Font sources go beyond Google Fonts. The description claims 500+ Google Fonts, Typekit and self-hosted uploads, so a licensed typeface can be used without an extra font plugin. Colours follow the same breadth: content and link states, form fields, buttons, menu and submenu states, mega menu borders, page header, sidebar and footer.
That is a lot of pickers, and the practical consequence is worth naming. A change to the body font comes from the Customizer and applies site-wide; a change to a section layout comes from Elementor and stays on that page. Agree before handover which of the two surfaces the client opens for which job. The vendor also lists one-click responsive deactivation and a one-click site frame with a colour-picker frame colour.
Twelve starting points and a deep media catalogue
The vendor counts 12 homepages with different designs and colour schemes, importable in one click, and says more will follow in updates.
The media layouts are the heavier part of the offer: 30+ slider layouts for featuring selected work, and 30+ flexible portfolio and gallery layouts that mix images and video. On top sit 60+ predefined page templates imported from Elementor, plus dedicated templates for portfolio pages, video galleries and gallery pages.
Read those numbers as material to choose from rather than a promise that the site is nearly done. Twelve homepages means twelve starting points; you still pick the hero image, the order of sections and the copy. The slider and gallery counts matter most if you want the same body of work presented three different ways across a homepage, a portfolio index and a single wedding story — and inherited demo styling tends to creep in when pages are imported quickly, so standardise on one layout family and trim rather than accumulate.
Where Elementor stops and the Customizer starts
Pages are built in Elementor by drag and drop. The vendor describes the usual builder conveniences: content modules selected from visual screenshots, a responsive preview inside the builder, and save-as-template so a finished page becomes the base for the next gallery page.
Header, navigation, mega menu and footer are also editable in Elementor, and mega menu columns can hold rich content rather than plain links. Navigation choices are listed as 5 menu layouts — left-aligned, centred, left vertical, and hamburger with a side panel, plus hamburger with a fullscreen panel. A sticky menu works as a one-click option with light and dark colour schemes.
If a studio already has a visual identity, the menu arrangement is likely the header choice that shapes every page most.
Blog formats and declared compatibility
Seven blog templates cover single post layouts, and the vendor says post content can carry images, a gallery slider, or video from YouTube, Vimeo or a self-hosted file. For a photographer who publishes venue notes or shoot write-ups, that variety is more useful than one fixed article layout.
The marketplace attributes recorded on 3 November 2026 list Elementor, Elementor Pro, WooCommerce 6.x through 9.x, WPML and Facebook as compatible, with WordPress from 5.0.x upward, responsive layout, high-resolution assets, widget-ready areas, and PHP, CSS and JS files in the package. The vendor marks the theme "Well Documented".
These are declarations, not the results of an installation test, so check the combination you actually need against the build in hand. The WooCommerce listing means shop capability is declared for selling prints or albums; it does not mean a store is configured for you. The attributes also mark Gutenberg Optimized as "No" — an optimisation label, not proof the block editor is unusable, but a signal that Elementor is the intended editing route.
Questions & answers
Does Artale let me password-protect a client gallery?
The vendor lists password protection among the theme's gallery and image protection options, alongside right-click blocking, image-drag protection and watermarking. These are described as theme settings, so confirm how they behave in the build you work with. They deter casual copying; they do not encrypt the files you serve.
Can I change fonts and colours without editing CSS?
According to the theme description, yes. Typography and colour settings are handled in the WordPress Customizer with live preview, covering body text, headings, buttons, menus, submenus, page headers, sidebar and footer. Font sources include Google Fonts, Typekit and self-hosted uploads.
Can I sell prints or albums with Artale?
The marketplace attributes list WooCommerce 6.x through 9.x as compatible. That is a declared range, not a ready-made shop: products, payments and shipping still need setting up.
