The Avia Layout Builder: scope and limits
Enfold's editing workflow centres on the Avia Layout Builder (ALB), a drag-and-drop content editor that Kriesi describes as built exclusively for this theme. That matters because ALB isn't a licensed copy of WPBakery or Elementor — its elements, modal controls, and update cadence are all tied to Enfold itself.
According to the marketplace description, ALB handles page content: columns, sliders, buttons, galleries, tabs, toggles, accordions, pricing tables, data tables, call-to-action blocks, testimonials, and more. What it does not manage is the header and footer — the listing makes this explicit. Those areas are controlled separately through Enfold's theme options panel. If your project involves a heavily customised navigation bar or a globally edited footer, that work happens outside ALB.
Skins, colours, and layout options
The marketplace description lists more than 20 predefined skins that you can apply directly from the WordPress admin panel. Each skin is editable, and the vendor describes unlimited colour options backed by a backend colour picker — so you're not confined to the palette a skin ships with.
At the structural level, Enfold offers both wide and boxed layout versions. Typography settings, font options, and background controls are available globally, and the description notes that individual pages or portfolio entries can carry their own styling overrides on top of the global settings. That per-entry flexibility is relevant if you're running a portfolio or a site where section identities differ significantly.
Plugin compatibility
The marketplace attributes (observed November 2026) list compatibility with WooCommerce 8.x through 10.x, WPML, Gravity Forms, Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, bbPress 2.5.x and 2.6.x, and WP EasyCart. These are vendor-stated compatibility claims, not the result of our own installation tests.
For a shop, the marketplace description also mentions WooCommerce Bookings support for time- and date-based reservations — relevant if you're selling appointments, rentals, or classes rather than physical goods. The description separately lists Mailchimp newsletter integration and an Ajax instant search that returns results as the user types.
Multilingual and RTL architecture
Kriesi lists over 20 language files, including Turkish, German, French, Arabic, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. These translate the theme interface; they do not translate your site's articles or product descriptions.
For multilingual content, the vendor lists WPML compatibility. An included RTL stylesheet handles right-to-left presentation, so language selection and page direction can be considered separately.
Layered PSDs and the designer handoff
The marketplace file list includes layered PSD files, and the vendor's description states that more than 30 PSDs cover nearly every page template in the Enfold Default Demo. For a design team that works in Photoshop before moving to the browser, that's a concrete starting point — you can adapt an existing comp rather than recreating page structure from scratch.
Demo images are stock photographs from Photodune and are not included with the theme. The PSDs reflect layout and structure, not licensed photography.
