Fourteen extra elements on top of WPBakery
A corporate theme can offer the same WPBakery canvas as a dozen others. What ThemeAmber adds here is its own element set. The marketplace description says the theme includes all Visual Composer shortcodes plus custom additions, then names them: AB Custom Heading, AB Button, AB Call To Action, AB Contact Info, AB Carousel, AB Carousel All, AB Grid, AB Team, AB Counter, AB Client – Testimonial, AB Feature Box, AB Progress Bar, AB Pricing Table and AB News.
Read that list as a content model rather than a feature count. A team section becomes the Team element, not a grid of image and text blocks you rebuild on every page. Figures such as years in practice or projects delivered become counters. Fee structures become a pricing table. A quote from a client becomes a testimonial element with its own styling, and progress bars give you a way to show capability levels without writing custom CSS.
That matters most for a small firm that will reuse the same handful of patterns across a services page, an about page and a home page. The elements keep those patterns consistent, and the description's claim is that layouts are assembled by clicks inside the builder rather than by template edits.
What the Services and Portfolio options actually change
Two content areas get their own mechanics. Services can carry an image or a font icon, and the vendor says you can use a predesigned single layout or build the service page from scratch — so the visual decision is icon versus image, and the structural decision is ready-made versus your own composition.
Portfolio is a display choice: carousel or detail layout, with the column count set per layout. The changelog fills in the history here. Version 1.3.4 added a portfolio grid layout through the AB Grid element, which means the grid is the same shortcode used elsewhere rather than a separate portfolio module.
Blog posts support image, gallery, video and audio formats, and the description keeps comments in the picture. For a consultancy publishing occasional insight pieces and the odd recorded webinar, the format list is more relevant than post-design variety.
Page titles, header and menu controls
The presentational layer sits in theme options rather than in the page builder. Page titles accept a subtitle and a background image; the changelog shows that control growing over time, with overlay configuration added in 1.3.5 and top and bottom padding options in 1.3.6. An upper header region gives you space for contact details above the main navigation.
Menu behaviour gets attention too. Optional menu highlight lets a single navigation item stand out, which is a practical way to point at a booking or enquiry page. Version 1.3.4 added a dropdown for the top menu, and 1.3.5 added submenu colour configuration for background, hover, link, hover link and border.
The vendor describes these options as "all graphic / just click" — settings changed in a panel rather than in code. If your site needs per-page title imagery with different overlays, that is the group worth trying first.
Design sources ship with the theme
The ThemeForest file list names Layered PSD, PHP, CSS, SCSS and JavaScript files, and the description mentions 13 PSD files included. Layered design sources are not standard in a WordPress theme package, and SCSS alongside compiled CSS means the stylesheets can be edited at source rather than patched at the bottom of a file.
For a project where a designer produces comps and a developer implements them, this changes the hand-off. The designer starts from the theme's actual layer structure instead of recreating the layout from screenshots, and the developer has the stylesheet source to work from. Retina readiness and high-resolution graphics are also declared, which fits the image-heavy headers the theme encourages.
Neither the PSDs nor the SCSS files make the front end easier to change at runtime — that still happens in WPBakery and the options panel. They help the build before launch, or a rebrand afterwards.
The 1.4.0 record and what it implies for your install
As observed on the marketplace listing on 4 November 2026, the latest marketplace version is 1.4.0, and the vendor's last update is dated 26 April 2024. The 1.4.0 changelog entry lists updated WPBakery elements and updated plugins — not new features.
The declared software compatibility stops at WordPress 6.4.x, and the oldest declared release is 4.9.x. The "Compatible With" attribute lists WPBakery Page Builder, bbPress 2.5.x and 2.6.x, WooCommerce 5.x through 8.x, and Bootstrap 4.x and 5.x. The browser list still names Internet Explorer 11, which says more about when that list was compiled than about who visits your site.
These are vendor and marketplace declarations, not results from testing the theme against a current WordPress release or your plugin stack. If your install runs a version newer than 6.4.x, run it on a staging copy before switching a live site over, and check that any WooCommerce shop you plan to attach behaves as expected. Gutenberg Optimized is declared Yes, which means the block editor remains usable — not that the theme's designed pages are built with blocks.
Who the element set suits
Consultancy fits a firm whose pages repeat a small number of business patterns: a team, a set of services, some proof figures, a client quote, a price list, a portfolio of engagements. Those are exactly what the AB shortcodes cover, and WPBakery keeps them editable by someone who does not write code.
It fits less well if you want the block editor to be your primary page-building tool, or if you need the theme to have tracked WordPress releases past 6.4.x. In both cases the version record, rather than the feature list, is the deciding fact.
Questions & answers
Does Consultancy work with WooCommerce?
The marketplace compatibility attribute lists WooCommerce 5.x through 8.x. The theme itself is written for consultancy and corporate sites, so commerce is a declared compatibility rather than the product's focus. The descriptions do not list e-commerce design elements.
Are the demo images included in the package?
The description mentions 13 PSD files and an XML export for the demo look, but does not state whether the demo photography is licensed for reuse. Treat the images as presentation for the demo until the vendor's documentation says otherwise.
Can I build pages with the block editor instead of WPBakery?
Gutenberg Optimized is declared Yes, so the block editor is available for your content. The theme's designed sections rely on WPBakery and the AB shortcodes, so block-built pages will not inherit those layouts automatically.
