The bundled calculator turns a landing page into an estimate
The vendor description names home improvement and maintenance work — plumbing, ventilation, heating, air conditioning, solar systems — and says the theme also suits other businesses. The line that matters most comes later: a "highly rated customizable Cost Calculator plugin that comes free with this theme." Bold Themes' Cost Calculator sits in the included-plugins list alongside Bold Builder, Meta Box and the vendor's one-click demo importer.
For a trade site this changes what a page can do. A visitor with a leaking boiler or a ventilation job usually arrives with a rough idea of scope, not a decision. An on-page estimator that lets them pick a service and options gives them a number to react to, and gives you an enquiry with the parameters attached. A contact form collects a name and a message instead.
Two limits are worth holding in mind. "Customizable" means work: someone has to define the service inputs, the quantities and the price logic behind them. And the description does not say whether the calculator stores submissions, emails estimates or connects to WooCommerce checkout, so read the plugin's own settings before you build a sales process on top of it.
Elements that answer service-page questions
The element list is where the trade focus shows. Alongside the usual sliders, tabs and text blocks, it includes a Service element, a Steps element, a Price list, a Counter with icon, a Rating element, Google maps and a Countdown.
Each maps to something a service visitor asks. Steps suits a "how we work" sequence — call, survey, quote, install. Price list handles published call-out rates or package tiers where a full calculator is overkill. Counter with icon and Rating carry the credibility figures: jobs completed, years in business, review scores. Google maps places your coverage area, and the Countdown gives a seasonal offer a deadline. A masonry grid, latest posts element and video element cover the blog and gallery side if you keep one.
Individually none of these is unusual. The useful part is that they ship together, so a service page does not need extra plugins to say what it does and where it does it.
Bold Builder works from the admin, with per-page overrides
Pages are assembled in Bold Builder, described as a fast drag-and-drop backend editor rather than a front-end one. You build in the admin, which keeps the editing interface away from the rendered page and from casual users.
Two listed features matter more than they first appear. The first is an "Override global settings option" for individual pages. Global header, footer, sidebar and colour-scheme choices set the site's baseline; a single page can depart from it, so a campaign landing page gets its own header without forking the whole design.
The second is full clipboard functionality — copy and paste from one page to another, or "from one website to another." Reusing a block of service copy, a steps sequence or a form section becomes a paste rather than a rebuild. Be deliberate: pasted content carries its own settings, so a block lifted from a page you had already overridden brings that page's choices with it.
Around these sit colour schemes with a colour picker, Google Fonts, full-width and boxed layout options, multiple header and menu styles including a sticky header, left or right sidebar selection per page, custom footers, mega menu support and a raw HTML/JS element for anything the element list does not cover.
Two display controls that reduce upkeep
Two editing options are about what shows rather than how it looks. "Time limited content appearance" gives content a window in which it displays. A "hide/appear on screen resolutions" option does the same for viewport size.
The time window removes a routine chore. A boiler-service discount or a summer air-conditioning offer can be set to stop appearing without anyone remembering to take it down. The trade-off is that expired content stays in the page until someone deletes it, so a periodic tidy is still on you.
The resolution control lets you keep a dense block, such as a detailed price table, out of the narrow-screen layout instead of building two versions of the page. The vendor calls both editor options; the supplied material does not specify how the time window or the breakpoints are defined, so confirm that in the theme documentation before relying on either for anything time-critical.
Six demos, one RTL demo, and one-page support
The theme ships with six demos and a set of inner pages, plus what the vendor calls "1 RTL demo" and RTL support. On the description's own account the demos come in through a one-click importer (Bold Themes WordPress Importer) that populates content, which you then replace with your own through the Customizer-based options panel. One-page support is listed separately, which suits a small contractor whose whole presence is a single scrolling page of services, trust signals and a quote route.
The RTL demo matters for a business serving right-to-left language markets: it shows the layouts mirrored rather than only claiming translation readiness. WPML appears among supported plugins, and the theme is described as translation ready.
The caption on the vendor's own demo gallery is a practical warning: demo images are not licensed for third-party use on production sites. If you like the photography on the preview, budget to license it separately or replace it.
What the seller declares about platform support
Marketplace attributes observed on 4 November 2026 list WordPress versions from 7.0.x back to 6.0.x, WooCommerce 9.x.x through 6.x.x, and WPML as a supported plugin. Gutenberg Optimized is marked Yes, the theme is marked widget ready and retina ready, and the file list names PHP, CSS and JavaScript files. Multisite testing and child-theme readiness are also listed in the vendor feature text.
Treat those ranges as declarations, not a record of testing against your plugin stack, PHP build and caching setup — the description also lists Yoast, Contact Form 7 and W3 Total Cache as supported. If you publish prices through WooCommerce and put the calculator on the same page, build both in a staging copy before launch and check how the estimator and checkout behave together.
Questions & answers
Does the cost calculator work out of the box on a plumbing or HVAC site?
It ships bundled and is described as customizable, not pre-configured for trades. Expect to define your own service options, quantities and pricing rules inside the plugin settings before the estimator produces figures that match what you charge.
Can I reuse the photography from the ProHauz demo?
Not on a production site. The vendor states that demo images are not licensed for third-party use and must be licensed separately if you intend to use them.
Do I need a child theme to customise it?
Only for code-level changes. Colours, fonts, headers and layouts are handled in Bold Builder and the Customizer; the vendor lists the theme as child theme ready if you plan to modify templates or PHP.
