A slider manager that sits outside the page builder
GoodLayers lists two dropping tools for Megazine: a Drag Drop Page Builder and a Drag Drop Slider Manager. They are separate entries in the feature list, and that separation is the practical detail. Promotional slides live in their own manager rather than as elements placed inside a page layout.
For a publication whose lead story changes through the day, this keeps promotion and structure apart. You replace slides without reopening the page that displays them, and the homepage layout stays as built.
The vendor's list also mentions a video tutorial for setting up a site like the demo, which suggests the demo arrangement is meant to be reproduced rather than only viewed.
Thumbnails chosen per item: image, slider or video
Thumbnail Options appear in the feature list with three types: Static Image, Slider and Video. The vendor does not spell out where the switch lives, but grouping them under "Thumbnail Options" points to a per-item treatment rather than a single archive-wide setting.
That changes daily editing. A post can carry a video thumbnail while the story below it stays a still. The cost is uniformity: a grid mixing animated and static thumbnails will read unevenly, and nothing in the vendor material says how the slider and video types align to the same aspect ratio. If a calm front page matters, standardise on the static image type.
These are vendor claims, not results from testing the theme on a live install. Confirm the behaviour on the demo before you plan a front page around it.
The SEO section describes markup, not a plugin
GoodLayers makes a specific, checkable claim: heading tags (H1, H2, H3) carry titles, main content was moved above the sidebars in both sidebar layouts so the primary content is parsed earlier, and image alt tags are supported.
Treat it as template structure, not a ranking promise. The theme decides the order the markup arrives in; you still write the titles and the alt text. The claim also comes with the theme's description rather than a current audit, so it is worth checking the rendered heading order on one article page.
Layout and type controls worth counting
The vendor list includes four blog styles, six footer layouts, 15 predefined background patterns, unlimited colour and 450+ fonts, plus uploaders for the font, logo and background.
Two of those earn attention. Six footers matter on a long-running publication where the footer carries section links, legal notices and a subscription prompt — you can rearrange it without touching the pages above. The font uploader matters more than the 450+ number: a house typeface can be uploaded instead of approximated with something close.
Localization: a .pot file and a separate translator tool
The description says a .pot file is prepared and only needs translating into .mo files. A Built-in Translator also appears in the feature list, which implies strings can be supplied from inside the site rather than through a desktop editor and file upload.
The compatibility attribute lists WPML separately. That is a declared compatibility, not a description of how translated categories and menus behave, and no WPML configuration file is mentioned. If the site has to run in several languages, the .pot route is the documented path and WPML is a claim to test on a staging copy.
What the package contains, and one date to note
The marketplace file list is Layered PSD, PHP, CSS and JavaScript. Layered PSD sources are unusual in a theme package and matter if a designer needs to match the demo artwork rather than approximate it in CSS.
As observed on the marketplace listing on 4 November 2026, the latest marketplace version is 1.4.0 and the declared WordPress compatibility spans 6.1.x to 7.0.x. The browser list still names Internet Explorer 11, which dates that list more than it constrains a current build.
Questions & answers
Can one archive mix static, slider and video thumbnails?
The vendor lists all three as Thumbnail Options but does not state whether the choice is made per post or per layout. Mixed types are implied by the feature wording; how they align side by side in a grid is not described.
Does Megazine handle SEO on its own?
It changes markup, not strategy. GoodLayers describes heading tags for titles, main content above the sidebars and alt attribute support. Titles, alt text and any SEO plugin configuration remain your work.
Is WPML compatibility confirmed?
WPML appears in the compatibility attributes. No configuration file or detail on translating taxonomies is described, so the .pot and built-in translator routes are the documented ones.
