Classima

WordPress theme

Classima is structured around the daily operation of a classifieds site rather than a homepage showcase: sellers submit ads shaped by per-category custom fields and ad types, manage them from a front-end dashboard, and the site owner earns through promotion tiers, membership plans and store profiles. The article follows that submission and monetisation loop, then covers the buyer-seller chat, the category and location browsing tools, and what the vendor and marketplace listing actually state about the package and compatibility.

The ad form is the site, and Classima builds it by category

Most WordPress themes start you on a homepage. Classima's vendor description starts somewhere less photogenic: the fields a seller fills in. The theme lets you create unlimited custom fields and assign them category by category, or bundle them into groups with fields underneath. Seven field types are supported — text box, text area, URL, number, select, radio and checkbox.

That structure is the real design decision on a classifieds site. A car listing wants mileage and fuel type; a flat wants bedrooms and floor area; a job wants salary range and contract type. If your categories cannot carry different fields, everything gets flattened into one generic description box and buyers lose the ability to compare.

The vendor also lists separate ad types — Buy, Sell, Exchange, Jobs and To-Let — manageable from the admin side, so the form a seller sees can differ by what they are posting. Approval is configurable too: listings can be published automatically or held for manual review. Guest submission is a listed option, and the vendor says a non-registered poster gets an account created automatically. Each of those switches changes your moderation workload, so decide them before you invite traffic rather than after.

How the site earns: promotions, durations and memberships

The monetisation layer is more developed than the usual "accept payments" line. The vendor describes three paid promotion options: a Top ad, a Bump up and a Featured ad. Separately, you can set how many days a listing runs and define a threshold in days during which a listing counts as new. Those two numbers control how fresh the board looks without anyone logging in to tidy it.

Membership is where the flexibility sits. The vendor says a site owner can create multiple membership types, each with a duration and an ad allowance, and that permissions can be scoped per category or across the whole site, with a specific number of ads per category and the option to give no free ads at all. If you plan to run free posting for some categories and paid posting for others, that is the setting that makes it possible.

Payment handling is claimed for offline payments plus PayPal, Stripe and Authorize.net. The vendor also states that WooCommerce payment gateways were integrated, which brings WooCommerce coupons and invoices into play when that route is used. Treat the gateway list as a starting point for staging checks against your own merchant account rather than a settled configuration.

Storefronts, chat, and the admin view of both

A store facility lets registered users build their own shop-like presence: a large banner, a business description, and opening and closing hours. Visitors can read a store's details and see all of its ads in one place. The vendor ships this as a Store add-on alongside the membership side, so on a site where sellers are businesses rather than one-off posters, the store page becomes the profile buyers actually judge.

Chat runs between sellers and buyers inside the theme, and file transfer is included for images, PDFs and documents. The practical addition is the admin-side chat view, recorded in the changelog entry for version 2.10.2 alongside the file transfer feature. Without that, moderation of a private messaging channel depends on reports; with it, you can review a conversation when a dispute is raised. The same changelog entry also notes a fix for chat data saving, which is the kind of detail worth testing on staging with real file uploads before launch.

Browsing by category and location, with a three-level cap

Search on a classifieds site is mostly two questions: what and where. The vendor lists AJAX filters for category and location with autocomplete on both, and describes map handling through a Google Maps API integration, a map widget and a map list view. So locations can be shown as pins or as a list, and the widget can sit on a page to display where an ad is placed.

Location depth has a stated limit: a maximum of three levels, such as State, City and Town, with the option to define custom levels. Some listing platforms are happy with that; a national directory with district-level granularity is not. Decide early whether three levels reach the precision your buyers expect, because opening a second layer of detail later means reworking existing listings.

The vendor's ads-feature list includes other browsing controls that belong in the same conversation: choosing which custom fields appear in the listing view and which appear in search filters. That is what turns your category-wise fields into a usable filter sidebar rather than invisible metadata.

Editing tools, with one number the vendor states twice

The theme is built on Elementor, and the marketplace attributes record Gutenberg Optimized as yes, so block-editor content is not being worked around. Theme options are handled through a Redux admin panel, and the vendor refers to Customizer controls for real-time changes to colours, typography and image sizes for thumbnails and galleries. It also lists unlimited colour combinations, four header styles with more variations, and two blog layouts.

One detail is worth flagging because the source contradicts itself: the main description mentions 8 multi-homepages, while the same vendor's feature list says 12 Home Pages. Do not plan a page count from either number until you see the demo importer's actual list. That importer, the child theme, RTL support and a POT file are all listed inclusions.

On the file list, ThemeForest records PHP, CSS and JS files only. Premium images in the demos are explicitly not included — the vendor says they are for demonstration — so plan your own photography or licensed imagery.

What the listing declares, as observed on 3 November 2026

Compatibility attributes are declarations, not evidence of testing against your stack. With that caveat: the marketplace lists Elementor, WPML and Bootstrap 4.x as compatible, along with IE11, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome as browsers, plus widget-ready areas, responsive layout and high-resolution assets. Declared WordPress support runs from 4.9.x through 7.0.x, with each release named individually.

The WordPress range and the theme's own version history interact. The catalog entry observed on that date records version 3.1.0 with an entry dated 20 October 2026, whose changes cover a website-link nofollow fix, a calendar text translation fix in the listing form, and a new location detection feature, with updates to the Classified Listing Pro and Store plugins. Earlier releases added things the current feature set depends on, such as directory-based slug building for listing URLs in 3.0.0.

Since the classifieds behaviour lives partly in those companion plugins, your own PHP version, payment gateway requirements and any other active plugins are the variables to test on staging. The search label on this page is a catalog reference, not a statement about how the theme is licensed or what any particular package contains.

Questions & answers

Can different categories collect different information from sellers?

Yes, according to the vendor description. Custom fields can be created without a set limit and assigned category by category, or organised into groups containing multiple fields. Seven field types are supported: text box, text area, URL, number, select, radio and checkbox. The same fields can be surfaced in the search filters, which is what makes them useful beyond the ad page.

What can a registered seller do without contacting the admin?

The vendor describes a front-end dashboard where a logged-in user can post a new ad, edit an existing one, promote a single ad, check favourites, view payments and delete an ad. Promotion options listed are Top ad, Bump up and Featured ad. Whether those promotions are free or paid depends on how you configure listings and memberships.

How many location levels does Classima support?

Three levels such as State, City and Town, or custom levels of your own naming. The vendor also lists AJAX filters and autocomplete for both category and location, a Google Maps API integration, a map widget and a map list view. If your directory needs finer granularity than three levels, that limitation affects your category architecture from the start.

Does the theme include the images shown in the demos?

No. The vendor states that premium images are used for demonstration only and are not included. ThemeForest lists the packaged files as PHP, CSS and JS. You will need to supply your own licensed photography for a live site.

Aardvark

Aardvark is a GhostPool WordPress theme whose vendor description builds a gated community rather than a brochure: the site can be restricted until a visitor logs in, with a dashboard as the destination afterwards, then layered with BuddyPress profiles, Paid Memberships Pro levels that can serve different homepages per tier, Sensei courses and a WooCommerce store. The article covers what each of those layers does, how the bundled Youzify and Ultimate Reviewer plugins fit, and which plugins the theme expects you to install yourself.

Anesta

Anesta, by AncoraThemes, is organised around workplace tasks rather than a page style: dashboards for events and news, BuddyPress and bbPress for groups, the Knowledge Base for Documents and FAQs plugin for file sharing, Democracy Poll for internal surveys, and LearnDash for staff courses — which the vendor states is not included in the pack. This article covers what each of those pieces actually requires, where the three-way editing split falls between Elementor, the Theme Options panel and the setting inheritance system, and why the release notes are the place to check plugin versions before you commit.
