Blueprint is the builder, and it comes with the theme
Twisttheme doesn't hand page building to Elementor, WPBakery or the block editor. Bateaux ships Blueprint, its own drag-and-drop builder, and describes it as having a fullscreen editable mode, an inline text editor, live preview, and copy-and-paste for rows and elements.
The feature that shapes everyday work is the template system. The vendor says you can save, import and export templates across computers. For anyone building a few sites or moving a design between a local install and a live one, that's a file you carry rather than a layout you rebuild by hand. It also means the reusable units are your own arrangements, not a fixed library someone else defined.
The practical trade-off is containment. Layouts built in Blueprint live inside Blueprint, so your editing workflow depends on a builder maintained by the theme author rather than on one with a plug-in ecosystem behind it. If a project may need to change builders later, weigh that before you invest in a large set of pages.
Slide pages and one-page sites as structural choices
Bateaux's feature list contains a cluster of formats that change how a site is navigated rather than how it looks: One Page Scroll, an individual landing page without a menu, Vertical Slide, Horizontal Slide, and Split Slide, which the vendor says creates a split page slide in one click.
These aren't variants of the same thing. A one-page scroll suits a campaign or an agency overview where a visitor reads a single argument from top to bottom. A vertical or horizontal slide page behaves more like a presentation, and the split-slide format divides the screen so two pieces of content appear side by side. A landing page with no menu removes navigation entirely, which is what you want for a paid-ad destination and not what you want for a site's main structure.
Because these are chosen per page, they can coexist with conventional pages in the same install. A portfolio can open with a slide-based entry page while the rest of the site uses a normal header and menu.
Where the prebuilt layouts actually differ
The vendor lists 25 unique homepage layouts, 50+ prebuilt page templates, unlimited portfolio layouts with 18+ prebuilt portfolio templates, and page-builder control inside portfolio single pages. Those numbers describe different scopes: homepages are starting points for the front of the site, page templates cover inner pages, and portfolio templates cover the case-study side.
Portfolio singles being editable in the page builder is the detail worth noting. It means a project page doesn't have to follow one fixed arrangement; you can compose each one. That suits studios and photographers whose projects differ in shape — a wide image-led project and a text-heavy case study don't need the same page.
The listing also mentions infinite grid layouts and a customisable gallery, so index pages can carry more than a single column count.
Colour, type and header control
Bateaux handles colour with a scheme approach: choose a light or dark section scheme and the vendor says all the colours are generated automatically. Combined with synchronised colours and synchronised fonts, that gives a consistent palette without editing individual elements.
Typography runs to 700+ Google Fonts, Typekit integration and custom font uploads. Headers get their own depth: 30+ styles across 8 layouts, with the header style selectable on an individual page, post or portfolio item. A fixed navigation bar can be set to auto-hide on scroll, and there are boxed, full and framed page layouts alongside a topbar that takes widgets.
Smaller page-level settings round this out — seven preloader styles that can be enabled per page or sitewide, video backgrounds on sections, columns and interactive elements, and a custom 404 page and maintenance mode.
What the declared stack says about the theme's age
The marketplace attributes recorded on 4 November 2026 list WordPress 5.6.x down to 4.0 and WooCommerce 4.9.x down to 3.6.x. The vendor's last recorded update is 12 February 2021, and version 1.2.6 is the latest marketplace release.
Read plainly, those are vendor declarations about versions that existed years ago, not a statement of compatibility with what your site runs now. If you're building on a current WordPress release with a modern WooCommerce, the declared range doesn't cover it, and you should treat the theme as a 2021 codebase until your own staging install says otherwise.
Gutenberg Optimized is marked No. That records that the theme's layouts weren't built around the block editor; it doesn't mean the block editor stops working in WordPress. Your edits in Bateaux happen in Blueprint, so plan for that division rather than a hybrid workflow.
One more note from the description: most images in the demos are copyrighted and aren't included in the theme package. Your imported layout will arrive without those photographs.
Files, widgets and child-theme support
The package is listed as containing PHP, CSS and JavaScript files, and the theme is widget ready and marked well documented. The vendor lists nine custom widgets, unlimited sidebars you can add or delete, and child theme readiness, which matters if you intend to change templates rather than just build pages with Blueprint.
Contact Form 7, Yoast SEO, WP Google Map and WPML are named as compatible, and the theme is described as translation ready. LayerSlider and Slider Revolution appear in the vendor's list with licence prices noted, which means they are third-party items whose terms you'd check separately rather than parts of the theme licence.
Questions & answers
Do I need to use the demo importer to build with Bateaux?
No. The one-click importer is how the vendor suggests getting to a starting point that resembles the demos, but the builder and templates work on their own. Importing is mainly useful if you want the 25 homepage layouts and 50+ page templates in place to inspect before you replace the content.
Can Blueprint layouts be moved to another theme later?
The supplied description only promises export and import between installations of Blueprint, saved as templates you can carry to another computer. It says nothing about converting those layouts to the block editor, Elementor or WPBakery, so plan on the layouts staying with the theme.
Is WooCommerce support current?
The marketplace attributes list WooCommerce 3.6.x through 4.9.x, recorded on 4 November 2026, and the vendor's last recorded update was February 2021. Those ranges don't cover recent WooCommerce releases, so test shop templates on a staging copy before committing a store to the theme.
