Prepare a staging installation

Work on a staging copy when replacing a theme on an existing website. Keep a recoverable backup of files and the database. Record the WordPress and PHP versions in use and compare them with the requirements for the package. Declared minimum versions are not a recommendation to run outdated software.

Identify the Flatsome theme archive

The catalog inspection recorded package version 3.20.7. Check the version shown beside the current download separately, because a stored observation and the available file may change at different times. A download may contain documentation or other archives in addition to the installable theme. Identify the archive containing the theme files rather than assuming the outer bundle is the file WordPress expects.

Upload through WordPress

With a WordPress account permitted to install themes, open Appearance → Themes, choose Add New or Add Theme, then Upload Theme. Select the installable ZIP and install it. If WordPress reports a missing style.css file, first check whether you uploaded a bundle containing a second theme archive. Do not manufacture a stylesheet or rename unrelated files to suppress the error.

Set up the Flatsome workflow

Flatsome is presented with visual page-building tools and WooCommerce functionality. Decide whether the site will take orders or only display a catalog. For a store, configure and test WooCommerce separately from the visual theme setup. The source listing notes that some demo product images are not included, so prepare your own images.

Check the site before launch

Verify navigation, images, forms and the pages that matter to the project on both desktop and mobile. If the site sells products, include a test of the configured purchase flow. Check the installed plugin versions and resolve visible errors on staging. Keep any code customizations separate from the parent theme so an update does not overwrite them.

Questions & answers

Does importing a demo include every image and plugin?

Not necessarily. Check the package documentation and the components required by the selected demo. A marketplace screenshot is not an inventory of included files.

What if a connected service asks for activation?

Theme installation and access to a connected service are separate matters. Use the documented options for the installed package; this guide does not promise access to services or updates that require a separate entitlement.
