Match the layout to the publication
Newspaper and Newsmag are positioned around news and magazine publishing. Soledad describes a broader range of content-led sites, while Authentic emphasizes minimal lifestyle-blog and magazine presentation. These descriptions help narrow a shortlist; they do not prove that any theme will work with an untested combination of plugins.
Test the reading experience
Prepare a lead story, a long article, a gallery and a category archive. Check headline wrapping, image balance and the route to related stories on a phone. If advertising or a shop is part of the project, include it in the layout evaluation rather than treating it as an afterthought.
